Igor Samolet (1984) is a contemporary artist working with photography and sculpture. He graduated from Rodchenko Moscow School of Photography and Multimedia in 2013. His graduate photobook project be happy was awarded the silver medal of German Photobook Prize in 2014, and was included in the 3rd volume of Martin Parr's The Photobook: A History, that was purchased by Tate Modern for its public library in 2017.
Samolet has an impressive list of solo and group exhibitions in Europe and Russia. His personal projects were exhibited during Manifesta 10, IX and X Moscow International Biennale, and his photobook Herbarium was recently presented during Paris Photo 2017. His artworks are held in the permanent collection of Moscow Multimedia Art Museum, and in many private collections in Germany, Latvia, and Russia. Nowadays Igor Samolet lives and works in Moscow, Russia.
