MARIA POKROVSKAYA

MARIA POKROVSKAYA

Maria Pokrovskaya (born in 1982) graduated from the Rodchenko Art School (Moscow). She works with photography, installation, video and sculpture. Her project The Tradition of Good Taste contains large scale digital collages made from meat and sausages close-up photos, and it reveals the problem of ideological vulnerability of nature as one of the central motifs in the conservative government. Pokrovskaya twice took part in the Moscow International Biennale for Young Art, in 2014 and 2016. Her works are included in museum and public collections: Multimedia Art Museum (Moscow), National Centre for Contemporary Arts (Moscow), Galerie Hilger NEXT (Vienna).
